I dunno why I bother with dA sometimes. I'm pretty sure nobody watches me for my work, only 'cause I like their stuff and they think they owe me something. I mean, my stuff hardly ever gets any attention (especially lately. >_< ) if it's not a stamp or fanart, and I know I'm not that terrible...I've seen worse than me get a billion watchers. It's discouraging. ;_; In any case, angst aside, this is my RP character's daemon Adan. Generated at the site for the Golden Compass movie ( [link] ), which I haven't seen. I've read all three books, though. I've always loved the idea of daemons, too. Never thought I'd get a lion, though. Sweet! <3 I wonder if the daemon names repeat or if the species and picture are the only things that stays the same...? I hope he doesn't look too terrible. -- Adan = mine. Character generator, reference photo and daemon concept = not mine.
I love the generator thing, I took it once and got a fox daemon. Forgot the name though... it started with "A". *should take the quiz again*
Anyway, this is realy quite good. You're very talented with drawing animals. I can't even draw a cat well, and here you have a lion. >3 It definitely looks like you spent time an getting the features right, and I'm loving the feel you created. :3
P.S.
If you're looking for attention for your art, you gotta put yourself out there. <3 If you don't, it'll take awhile before people notice and then appreciate your art.
I was hoping to get a fox (I saw it on the side when I was taking the quiz), but I was actually quite pleased when I got a lion. That'd be one bad-ass daemon to have, le'me tell you.
Thanks! I'm always worried that my realism pictures are kiddish and I just can't see that. I know when I was younger, at least, it took me years to see the flaws in a drawing and when I did I felt like tearin' my eyes out.
Anyway! Thanks for the tip, though I'm really not sure how to get myself out there, else I likely would have already.
I just re-took it and got a Jackal. Pffffff~ *snort* Well, close. Sort of. And a lion daemon is badass. Like, you could ride that thing. And make it bite people's heads off.
Or use it as a comfy pillow. <3
Also, for the "putting yourself out there" thing, you could easily use DA's chatrooms, forum boards about art, and merely talk with people whose interests match yours. You've got a good start, but it does take time to accumulate popularity.
And I would totally use Adan as a pillow if he was real. I was just telling the person I RPed him with that last night.
Aaaand...Oi. I've been on dA since, hrm, '04 methinks? I don't think I've got much hope in the popularity department if my gallery hasn't taken off in that long. I'll keep the suggestions in mind, though.
Ah, he's lovely. :3 Andreas is who I got--a snow leopard. I love the Golden Compass. *snugs*
And, don't get too discouraged. If one person appreciates your work, I believe that's enough to keep uploading. (At least--that's why I still upload things now and again..^^)

Thank you! My buddy Jessica who I RPed Adan with also got a snow leopard.
And thanks for the words of encouragement. I agree, if even one person likes your stuff it's enough to keep posting. I just hadn't even been getting that until I ranted a bit on this one.
Sometimes a rant is what it takes. I'll be the first to admitt it--I'm horrible at commenting! It's something I'm working on, but alas, I am lazy at times. ^^ I believe you're an excellent artist. You have an unbelieveable amount of crativity and originality. I think more people appreciate your work than you realize. (Perhaps they're just lazy like me? ^^' )
